Method of Delivery
The course runs over 4 consecutive days from 9:00 - 3:30pm and will be held in October 2025. It is a blended learning experience mixing in person theory lectures with online Zoom lectures as well as hands on practicals focused on low tech Hemp applications and a farm site visit.

AP Verwoef (Facilitator & Lecturer)
AP brings over a decade of experience in hemp cultivation and processing, having spent time in Lithuania in 2015 specializing in hemp cultivation for grain and basic processing. Since 2016, he has been involved in hemp breeding in South Africa. With more than 15 years of experience growing cannabis, AP has been working with medicinal and heirloom plants since 2014, with a particular focus on extraction and other specialized techniques.
Tebogo Seleme (Lecturer)
Tebogo Seleme is as seasoned Cannabis grower who has also been growing other crops on his father's farms for years. In 2021 he decided to pivot to Hemp cultivation for its versatile use and got his Hemp cultivation license from the Department of Agriculture. He is the founder and Co-Owner of Budwise farm and was recently part of a training initiative in the Eastern Cape funded by the ECRDA.
Clara Norell (Lecturer)
Clara is the owner of Swedish Hemp Industries SHI, a consultancy that works with hemp fibers/stems as sustainable fossil-free innovative bio-based materials/applications for different industries. In her 6th year of Hemp farming in Sweden, her company is the first ever in Sweden to produce Swedish grown and de-hulled hemp seeds for the health food market in Sweden.
